This counterbore set covers metric socket head cap screws with HSS 4 flute pilot counterbores. Buy a 5 or 7-piece kit for the common sizes, or a single size from M3 to M20 to replace a worn cutter.
The pilot follows the drilled clearance hole and the cutter leaves a flat-bottom recess for the screw head. Use it in a drill press, milling machine or CNC center.

Choosing an option
Full ground and standard cutters are listed separately because their dimensions differ; the standard versions list the pilot and cutter diameters. A kit is the simplest way to cover several screw sizes at once.
FAQ
What is a counterbore used for?
It enlarges the top of a drilled hole with a flat bottom so a socket head cap screw sits flush or below the surface.
Do I drill the hole first?
Yes. Drill the clearance hole for the screw, then counterbore it; the pilot needs the hole to stay centered.
